6 Blogging Tips to Grow Your Business
Writers Write creates blogging resources and shares writing tips. In this post, we share everything you need to know about blogging.
Blogging is big business. It is the easiest way to reach your customers and followers on the internet. However, it’s not easy to get it right. You need to decide what your passion is, how to create a platform, how to write for the internet, how to use a plethora of tools and techniques, and how to market yourself.
A blog is a website in the form of a diary.
Originally known as a weblog, a blog allows individuals or companies to write regularly about topics that are important to them and that offer value to their followers.
A blog has up-to-date written content and includes photos, cartoons, videos, Infographics, and links. It also allows readers to comment on posts.
In social media marketing, your blog is your base. Without it, you will have nothing new to offer your followers and they will lose interest in your static website. New, frequently updated content will bring your followers back again and again. You will have fresh ideas and expertise to share on your social media outlets and you will be visible.
Here are 6 ways to help you create a blog that grows your business:
- Visualize. Make your blog posts user-friendly. Use images. Use headings. Add lists. Readers like white space. It makes it easy for them to read your content.
- Write web-friendly copy. Write to communicate. Shorter sentences are best. Cut the flab by removing words and phrases that add nothing to your sentences. Use strong verbs. They pack a punch and help you to avoid using the passive voice. Do not repeat yourself.
- Define your audience. What do they want to hear from you? Make sure the tone and substance of your posts suits the audience.
- Use images and infographics. There is very little chance of your blog post being noticed and even less of it being shared if you do not use a good image.
- Understand your brand. A brand is not static, but you should remember that people follow you for a reason. What has your audience given you permission to talk about?
- Ask a question. If you don’t ask, you won’t get it. This does not mean every blog post should be an advertisement. It means that people will not do things unless you guide them and ask them to do so. If you write a post on writing prompts, ask them if they want to receive one every day.
